█ San Agustín Church

Pass within the walls and go straight ahead on the busy “General Luna” street. Walk for 5 minutes and after crossing three streets ("Muralla", "Victoria" and "Potencia") you will see on the left a square with the
San Agustín Church.
This temple was built in 1607 and is the oldest church in the Philippines that still stands. It has been declared a
World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Inside the building several historical figures are buried, such as Miguel López de Legazpi, Juan de Salcedo, Martín de Goiti and Juan Luna.
The adjoining monastery has a beautiful cloister and houses a museum worth visiting.
Next to the 4 columns that guard the access door to the church, we can see some animals. The name of these
fierce animals will allow you to advance in your journey.
