█ Create and upload your tourist scavenger hunt
You can create and
add a tourist scavenger hunt to this platform in a
very simple way and
in a very short time. You just have to follow these steps:
1- Download the
template and prepare the adventure.
2- Add the header of the adventure in the template.
3- Add the steps in the template (texts and photos).
4- Send it to us.
Download the
template.
As a reference, you can use the scavenger hunt 'Intramuros - Within the walls' of Manila (Philippines) and go through it without having to walk its streets thanks to this
solution card.
█ Prepare your adventure
Think and
define a route on foot where tourist points of interest are located (buildings, statues, curious places, ... ).
Read and creatively write the texts that will talk about each of these points.
Try to follow these tips:

Bear in mind that the aim of this "self-guided tour" is for the user to
physically visit the places spoken of through a walking tour that makes them enjoy "in situ" the places described. This is not a "virtual" visit that can at home with an internet connection. The idea is to "force" the user to enjoy the history and cultural values of a place in the real world.

Try to define a
linear or
circular route. Do not define a chaotic route that makes the tourist return on his steps or forces him to pass several times through the same point.
IMPORTANT: Use eternal references for clues and keywords (which give access to the next screen). The answer to every question you ask must be there forever. For example, don't say "to the left of the tree," because it can be cut down. Don't say "enter the name of that cafeteria to continue," because it can change its name and the adventure would be useless. Do not make references to posters or other items that may disappear as a result of vandalism.
IMPORTANT: Do not use references that depend on schedules. For example, avoid references such as "inside the church you will see a saint, enter the name of the saint to continue", because if the church is closed, the adventure could not be continued.

Use literature to transmit with more intensity. Be creative and original.
Bring out the writer in you.

In addition to tourist or historical information,
add curiosities and anecdotes that make the adventure more attractive.
Don't use very long texts that can bore adventurers.

Think that there will be adventurers of very different conditions (not everyone will know that in 1212 the Battle of Las Navas de Tolosa took place).
Try to adapt to all kinds of audiences.
Don't put on very complicated challenges or riddles. The important thing is that the adventurer advances and continues enjoying your adventure. The
question should be simple, and the
answer should be short (one or two words). The answer must be visible in the place described but prevents it from appearing in the photograph so that the user does not "cheat".

Do not use more than
10-15 steps to prevent the adventurer from getting bored and losing interest.

Keep in mind that most adventurers will come from outside, so don't assume they know the names of the streets, main squares, and monuments. Uses
clear directions from your location to the next step.
Don't put the consecutive steps too far apart so that the adventurer doesn't get lost.
Use common sense.
Enjoy while you create your atourist scavenger hunt.
█ Add the header
Include
general information about the adventure you are generating (title, description, location,... ) in the
template that you have downloaded.
█ Add the steps
Include detailed information of
each step of the adventure in the downloaded
template. In each of these steps, a
text and a
photo related to the place must be added.
In each of the
texts of the adventure you have to include:
1- Clear indications of how to get to a point from the previous step. In the first step, this is not necessary because it is where it has been indicated that the adventure begins.
2- Tell something
interesting about that location.
3- Introduce a 'riddle' that requires analyzing that location to get the keyword that gives access to the next 'step.'
Look at this example:
█ Send it
Review your adventure in the most efficient way possible:
walk the route by yourself following your clues and indications (make corrections if necessary).
When you have everything cleaned up and ready to publish, send us an email:
1- Filled template.
2- Photos of the steps.
IMPORTANT: Remember that the texts and photos must be your own, and cannot be from third parties out of respect for intellectual property. By sending us the adventure, you accept the terms of this platform.
